Australian Paramedic Employers
Paramedics in Australia work in either Government or private sectors. All states and territories use Government ambulance services as their statutory ambulance service with the exception of Northern Territory and Western Australia which contract the ambulance service to a private company (St John). Private sector paramedic jobs are usually in natural resources industries such as mining, oil and gas. Beginning in 2018, paramedics will be required to register with APHRA in order to work as a paramedic.
